I wrote a post the other day that only other bipolar people seem to understand.
One of my fellow bipolars, Felicia, had my back and explained what I wanted to say perfectly but couldn't.
"In our actions, we, suffering from bipolar disorder, are not trying to hurt others. Most often the person getting hurt is us. We say things in the heat of the moment that we regret later. At the time, they feel right.
Mental illness blurs the line sometimes and makes us somewhat irrational. We don't feel great about those episodes, believe me. They make us feel like we are less than, and that we are destined to be miserable, not to mention not worthy of love."
Felicia, thank you so much for putting it so plainly and in an understanding way.
Each day will contain kinks in the hose we use as we attempt to water our Earth to fruition.

I'm so sorry you are hurting so much you got to this point. I'm so sorry you hurt people you care about. I know you didn't mean to. I know it makes you sad. I know the last thing you need in the whole world is a lecture.
ReplyDeleteWe still love you. Even when we don't (can't) understand.
I'm not bipolar, but I got what your point was on the last post. What you're going through is tough. It's hard to understand for those not going down the same path. But, you write to us because it helps you. Well, it helps us too to know as much as we can about the unknowable--other's true lives.
